I wanted to provide you with an update regarding Road Safety Issues, which people around your area have highlighted as an issue of concern on the priority survey. Thank you for taking the time to contact us regarding your concerns about road safety in your area, particularly in relation to parking issues.
We understand how inconsiderate or unsafe parking can impact visibility, traffic flow, pedestrian safety, and access for emergency services. These concerns are important, and we appreciate residents bringing them to our attention.
While we will continue to monitor any associated anti-social behaviour or driving offences, responsibility for parking restrictions, enforcement, and any alterations to the road layout or traffic management sits with the local authority. This includes matters such as parking restrictions, road markings, signage, traffic calming measures, and changes to the road network.
To ensure your concerns are reviewed by the appropriate team, we would encourage you to report the issue directly to the local authority. When making a report, it is helpful to include: The exact location(s) affected The nature of the parking concern (e.g. obstruction, safety risk, repeat issues) Times and days when the issue is most prevalent Any relevant photographs, where safe and appropriate
This information assists the local authority in assessing the issue and considering suitable solutions.
If you believe parking is causing an immediate danger or obstruction, or if you witness driving behaviour that is unsafe or anti-social, please continue to report this to the police using the appropriate reporting channels.
Thank you for your continued engagement and for helping to improve road safety within the community.
